Working while studying at UAlberta

Deciding to study abroad is a big choice and it leads to many other equally important decisions including what you will do during your free time in your new home.  Some students choose to join clubs or volunteer within the community but a large portion of international students also decide to gain some valuable work experience while also completing their degrees. Working while you complete your degree is a great way to build your career skills, make new friends, practice your English in a professional setting and of course earn some extra pocket money for all your many wonderful Canadian adventures! Working part-time while studying won’t pay enough to finance your education but international students still find the experience of working internationally a priceless experience that helps them get ahead in their careers.

So where are some of the places that UAlberta students work part time at while studying? There is so many choices including tutoring, working with the University, working in coffee shops and clothing stores etc. But don’t take my word for it, check out this video that features the many different places UAlberta student work. Enjoy!
